Are your property photos up to buyers' expectations?
In the world of Real Estate Photography, one thing for sure is the paramount importance of high quality images for the effective marketing of any property. If you are thinking about doing the photography yourself, ask yourself honestly if your images will meet the buyers' expectations?
The rapid evolution of relatively high quality and affordable digital cameras has spawned a new breed of wannabe photographers, each of whom believe that they can save themselves money because they have what it takes to deliver stunning property shots with the simple press of a button. What many of these individuals fail to realise however, is that the production of top class images takes more than a simple point and click approach to photography.
Take a moment to consider the modern property buyer's predicament. They are usually time poor, have their funds approved or are in the process of selling their own property and know what they are looking for (in general terms).
The process they will follow is they will firstly look online through a search listing portal such as realestate.com.au or domain.com.au. They will select a home type, a location, followed by a price range. What is instantly returned is a list of homes which are all competing for the buyer's interest. This is where the quality of your photography will play its strongest hand.
Great shots will attract buyer interest whilst average images will not.
Before you decide to take your own photographs, ask yourself honestly if your ability is in line with buyers expectation?
If your photographic skills are not up to the game then you should let a professional take control.
But why are good quality images so important?
As with any advertisement, the initial goal of any property advertising is to spark a buyer's interest. This is quickly followed by the secondary goal of holding onto that buyer's interest. When done well, images coupled with well-penned descriptions invoke an emotional response in buyers which assists in building the elusive "emotional connection" to your property.
As a general rule, the longer a potential buyer elects to explores a property online the higher the level of intent to purchase.
